Description: Location data and environmental variables were used to develop a consensus model using Maxent and Mahalanobis distance to create a continuous raster for each model. Values above averaged thresholds from Area-Under-Curve and Boyce Index for each model were converted to a binary map that identifies black bear (Ursus americanus floridanus) habitat across Florida, USA. The publication provides two scales, one at the statewide scale and one at a regional Bear Management Unit scale, but this layer shows only the state-scale binary map using raster cell values of 0.530 or higher as stated in Poor et al. 2020.
