Description: The Florida Panther Interagency Committee (FPIC), comprised of the FWS, NPS, GFC, and DEP, was established in 1986 to coordinate recovery of the Florida panther. A Habitat Preservation Plan (HPP), prepared in 1993 for the FPIC, identified 374,868 ha of occupied and potential habitat considered essential to maintaining a minimum viable population of 50 breeding adult panthers in South Florida. These data represent Priority 1 and Priority 2 areas identified by the FPIC
