Monitoring

Overview

Among the responsibilities of the Water Quality Steering Committee, as noted in the 1990 Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuaries Act, is the establishment of comprehensive monitoring programs to evaluate sources of pollution, the effectiveness of efforts to mitigate pollution, and progress toward achieving water quality standards and protecting sanctuary resources. The charge is segmented into three areas:
